Organisations that treat the EU AI Act as a compliance checklist will find themselves exposed. Not because the regulation is unreasonable, but because compliance without operational integration is theatre. The organisations that will navigate this well are the ones that have already designed governance into how they operate, not the ones scrambling to document systems they never properly mapped. One question is worth asking your senior leadership team this week. If an EU AI Act audit landed on Monday morning, would we pass? If the answer is not sure, the work starts now. Not in July.
