My favorite is when I’m at work and because of my job we occasionally have to turn the traffic lights to flashing and people still press the button fun fact the cross walk lights turn off when the lights aren’t on standard operating mode

See the thing is crosswalks don't indicate when the button has been pressed unlike with the elevator. I pressed the crosswalk button myself at least five times while waiting because what if it just didn't work the first time
