this is so true and I've stopped listening to Billie eilish since last yr and I've been feeling a lot better and I don't think I'm depressed anymore but also I don't think it's easy to just tell someone who's depressed to let go of the part and follow God, so I hope God comes through for them at the right time

I personally think music like this helps me with remembering how I felt in a certain moment, but it also helps me move forward and I still carry and remember that God has guided me on the right path. I have found that music helps me tune into my emotions that are hard to put into words sometimes. I don’t think that there is anything wrong with feeling and relating to a song, but I do agree that dwelling on the hurt isn’t what God wants for us. I think learning to listen and feel music in a healthy way is what we’re meant to do! I really liked your perspective on this :)

Yup genuinely have an issue with these heartbreak songs ESPECIALLY for people still healing. You can feel and want to be understood but dwelling on it does damage 😭

I listened to the song and read the lyrics…I’m not an Olivia Rodrigo fan but it is a beautiful song that is about heartbreak..clearly from the lyrics the break up is new and fresh and she’s sad about it and it’s normal to be sad about such a thing. HOWEVER, you don’t wallow in the sadness, even Jesus said how long will you mourn. I don’t think it’s wrong to appreciate this particular song as a believer. It’s the humanity of the feelings we all experience. She’s not promoting going back to a toxic relationship, she recognizes it’s not healthy and needs to end but it’s still sad, and that’s okay. The sadness will go because Jesus heals

This is the one. I had to realize this recently. I was singing a song that I didn’t agree with and I literally had to pause the song and say to myself I don’t agree with this and this is not who I am so why am I singing it.
