born and raised in California, it has changed. My 2 bedroom apartment in 2007 was 800 bucks. Now my 1 bedroom apartment is 1750, like why. how. everything is expensive

I’m from Salt Lake City, mid high cost of living, I moved to Seattle which is one of the highest rankings in the country when it comes to cost of living. It’s expensive no matter where you go. Only it’s easier to get a job paying $20-22 entry level than in Utah where it’s about $13-15 for the same entry level jobs. Don’t ever move for cost of living if that’s the only stressor.

I’m glad I left California in 2024 after my military service, moved to Da Nang, Vietnam.. best decision! Moved into a fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment for $550 a month and one block away from the beach.. I’m seeing what’s happening in the US with high rent and housing prices and the ridiculous cost of living, yeah I’m not coming back 😂

Moved out of California to Texas/NM border for affordability. Due to less regulations our new build fell apart immediately after moving in. We are now back in California. The grass isn’t greener on the other side.

I visited like 3 years ago. Loved it. But my gosh was it the most expensive place I’ve ever been to. When your gas costs more than the federal minimum wage you have a massive problem.🤦🏻♂️
