Thank you so much for this video. I’ve been trying to read a little bit more analytical and critical this 2026. Could you maybe create a video with a book or a much more tangible example just so that we can see how do you process this information from like a real text?

Yes great tips!!! Sometimes authors who philosophise thru their books can make readers take their word as final truth which can be sobering or confusing bc then every book that’s good is the truth…? You have to use discernment 😆

I find myself asking what would Clare think of this book? Biggest compliment ever.

Did you find that not having the background of who Elena Ferrante is affected your analysis of her works? She’s said she wanted to remove that factor in part by not revealing who she is

Sometimes it happens to me that I would like to analyze a book more deeply but I feel that I lack tools or knowledge since I did not study literature 🥲 (scientific girl here haha) and your content helps me a lot! Greetings from 🇨🇱

this is the video I needed right now. im trying to start a personal curriculum on literature. I've wanted to try to start on literary analysis before I got into other literature topics I wanted to get into; like how modern literature is affected by classic literature, poetry, the Shakespeare's sonnets, etc.

And don’t forget context! Context adds so many additional layers of meaning to a text. When was it written, where, what political powers were in control, etc. I always used House of the Spirits to make the point that it’s a great book without context, but WITH context, it’s magnificent

Why do we need the ‘evaluate’ and ‘identify’ stages? And why do you add an incredible amount of weight to ‘evidence’ and ‘biases’? You are right that critical thinking is the essence of being able to think and form opinions and that act should not be bound to evidence arithmetic.
