I love a solo trip. I go on a week long solo trip to Portugal for my birthday every year . I just arrived today for my 53rd Birthday, the best gift I can give myself . I always eat out for lunch and tend to get a takeaway or make food in the evening and just relax with a movie in the hotel studio appartment. I tend to get up early aroumd 8am to have breakfast at the beach and read and then I go on a little adventure. Sometimes I just pick a direction and walk, other times it will be an excursion or I get a train somewhere. Enjoy your trip, may you have many more

I love solo travel and thoroughly recommend it. I’ve done the same as you but I tried a cruise on my own and it was amazing and have another planned. I’m doing a coach holiday solo in August and cannot wait - as you say life’s too short to worry about it

Embrace it. Talk to people, dont drink much. if someone offers to buy you a drink...make it a soft one and go to the bar with them. Everything you choose to engage in is your choice. Enjoy and stay safe xx
