James Miller MSW :
Thank you Columbia. My name is James Miller and I am currently writing my memoir "Hope for the Hopeless" which it's an inspirational novel of how I have overcome seemingly impossible adversity. For me, I went from homeless to the Ivy League. I have conquered a multitude of social, economic, educational, and medical obstacles (such as parental domestic violence and divorce, poverty, Anemia, parental psychopathology, physical and psychological abuse, neglect, juvenile delinquency, teenage parenthood, homelessness, dropping out of school with only an eighth grade education, Esophageal Cancer, Obesity, Alcoholism, and Type 2 Diabetes) to become a flourishing married family man, successful Welfare Social Worker, and graduate from Columbia University which is the most prestigious and renowned Social Work program on the planet. I am currently applying for my LLMSW to become a Clinical Therapist and writing my autobiography to also become an author. I plan to share my story to provide hope for all those who feel hopeless in this world. My goal is to write my memoire and write a screenplay to turn my story into a feature film. Stay tuned since the best is yet to come. I only had a GED, went to Macomb Community College and then transferred to Michigan state. I graduated with a 3.92 with a double major in CJ and Psych. Finally graduated from Columbia with my MSW and a 4.0 despite only having 1.5 High school credits, never taking the act or sat, and overcoming impossible odds. Anything is possible just check my only post on my page for proof
