I put my moms house in trust 15 years ago, she got dementia and had to go into care and the council had to pay for 95% of the fees. Put your parents house into a trust ASAP.

I completely sympathise, I lost my mum to vascular dementia 5 months after dad … it’s a cruel disease, we had carers at home part time and me and my sister were also caring for her .. I have been fortunate that we didn’t need to sell the house to pay for care but the system is wrong .. your paying £6,000 a month and there is someone sat next to him not paying a penny … it’s makes no sense … well done Adam on speaking up… the system is floored and carers on minimum wage .. I’m 57 and now partially retired … life is for living … wise words Adam X
