Literally left that episode as a book reader like “y’all are gonna circle back to these really important, character forming events in his early life, right?? We’re gonna talk about the monastery and acting troupe, right???” Also not loving their choice to have him even participate in slaughtering his family because book!Lestat WOULD NEVER! His living family was such a crucial part to his internal struggle with his own humanity after being turned. Also that was supposed to be the reason old Gagz gets booted from his orbit for a couple centuries.

yeah i expected so much more from the Auvergne flashbacks but it also seems to me that Lestat wanted to rush it and gloss over it. Hopefully they’ll come back to it

lestat's narration is canonically all over the place. louis' memories are all dark and fogged, lestat's are chaotic and fast paced. it works with the characters imo!

i dont understand why is everyone clutching their pearls over lestat not talking about his human life. his human life lasts for like 40 pages max in the book and then there's a hurricane of things happening to him once he becomes a vampire. he hasn't even BEGUN talking about his past. let his human life go, people!!
