@daniel_kleber: I thought long and hard about posting this video. Social media often shows only the highlights. The perfect jumps. The perfect moments. The wins. But that’s not reality. After almost 500 BASE jumps, one mistake was enough to almost end my life. A mistake during preparation led to a near fatal accident. I had a cliffstrike and impacted the ground at a very high speed, because only one third of my canopy was inflated. Broke both ankles, tore multiple ligaments and broke my back in three places. The Austrian mountain rescue, the helicopter crew and everyone involved in the rescue got me out quickly and safely. I will never be able to thank them enough for what they do every single day. Without them, so many people would just die. Alone. In pain. And knowing that nobody will come for help. Four weeks later, I’m still recovering. The road ahead is long, but every day I’m getting a little bit stronger. I don’t want to use this page only to show the successful jumps. I also want to show the mistakes, the setbacks and the reality that comes with a sport like this. This video is one of those realities. The comeback starts now. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
