Quand les moyens de la nature comme ceux de l'entendement ne sont plus à même de voir et de comprendre, il ne reste plus que la foi. Il y a une experience qui est celle où la lumiere divine approchant est telle qu'elle assombrit notre lumiere mentale. Elle vient nous apporter une lumiere de l'au-delà et pour cela elle doit brûler ce que nous pensions savoir, afin d'installer en nous une connaissance qui n'est pas de ce monde. À cette approche du feu intérieur, s'il n'est pas recu avec foi,et silence d'adoration,c'est une destruction de soi qui peut advenir. Il s'agit en effet d'une operation secrête et sacrée.
