This report is an example of biased propaganda that ignores legal and historical nuances, as well as the blatant double standards of the EU. 1. Settlement products — their share in Israeli exports is only 2-3% (about $3-5 billion out of $165 billion). The EU's main trade with Israel ($42.6 billion in 2024) is high technology, chemicals and equipment, not dates and wines. 2. The EU's double standards — the fact that Brussels has been demanding labeling of settlement products for years, but at the same time immediately imposed a trade embargo on products from the occupied territories of Ukraine — is a classic example of hypocrisy. Germany and the EU have been discussing restrictions against Israel for months, but in practice they have only introduced labeling, not a ban. 3. Bias — The EU directs this policy exclusively against Israel, ignoring similar situations around the world (Turkey in Cyprus, Morocco in Western Sahara, Russia in Ukraine). This is not a defense of international law, but political pressure within the framework of the BDS campaign. 4. Legal ambiguity — the status of settlements is not as unambiguous as the video claims. According to the Oslo Accords, this issue is left for negotiations between the parties. By introducing unilateral measures, the EU prejudges the outcome of negotiations and loses the right to be called an honest mediator. Bottom line: this story is not journalism, but a political manifesto. He ignores the real scale of the trade, double standards and the legal complexity of the issue. Israel is not perfect, but one—sided criticism without taking into account the context is not objectivity, but bias.
