Hello from day 54 in the Intensive Care Unit I’ve had a hell of a two months and I think it’s time to share my story. I had my baby boy on January 22 and he is happy and healthy On January 26 I was back on hospital with an unknown infection and on January 28th I was admitted to the ICU After being admitted to the ICU I spent 21 days in an induced coma and 29 days on a ventilator I have had 12 surgeries (most of them while I was in my induced coma) There are only 50 document cases in the world of the bacteria that caused my infection, and I will be the 2nd known case to survive. I am recovering now, however I am still working to regain movement in my entire body. As of now I can’t lift any limb off of the bed I have 4+ months ahead of me to recover and 2-3 more surgeries at a minimum on the next 8+ months It is going to be a long road and I am going to bring you on it with me….and as I can I will drop new recipes and reels from the hospital room to you! I am so unbelievably thankful to my incredible husband Jeff, my sister Noelle and my parents, who have stayed with me at the hospital every single day and night to help me navigate each step of this process. If you feel compelled to help, go donate blood! Without the huge amounts of blood products I have received I would not be where I am today! AND, thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare workers involved in my care - I would not be here without you ❤️
