@gibbous.does.branding: Learn to make a transparent divider for your label design in this Adobe Illustrator Tutorial. With your label shape and text already sent into place, use the Pen Tool to create a vertical line that crosses over the label. At this point, using the Appearance Panel, set the stroke weight to whatever you like. It doesn’t matter the color of the stroke, as it will become transparent. In the Appearance Panel, select Path then go to FX - Path - Outline Stroke. Select both the label shape and vertical line and go to Object - Group. To combine them together. Now go back to the Appearance Panel and select Group. Go to FX - Pathfinder - Subtract. And now the vertical line will become transparent. To move and adjust the divider line of our label, long press on the Direct Select Tool and choose Group Select Tool. This will allow you to select the transparent divider line and modify it. And now you have a label design with a transparent divider for your next illustrator graphic design. #graphicdesign #designtutorial
Great info. They need to just make it a feature based on your description;“transparent divider”

I honestly think I need to go back through your videos and do a mini Illustrator crash course because you keep teaching me stuff each video 🤣
I'm completely self taught over at least 10 years, but tricks like this to get to the end result quicker is so good.
