This trip came as a surprise. I didn’t expect an opportunity to visit Saudi Arabia and I didn’t know anything about MiSK Global Forum until I was invited as a. speaker. MiSK was founded by Crown Prince HRH Mohammed bun Salman. Whi would decline such an honour to speak at a such a visionary forum? I was so impressed by the youths – their language proficiency, confidence and aspiration. I took the opportunity to explore Riyadh. Here are shots from: 1.	Al Diriyah, Suadi’s first capital city established in 1727 by Imam Mohammad bin Saud. It is a UNESCO Heritage and world’s biggest mudbrick village. 2.	The National Museum where the ancient, pre-Islamic and post-Islamic history is very nicely curated. 3.	Edge of the World or Jebel Fihrayn, 60km from Riyadh is a formation of cliff in the middle of the dessert. Sunset was breathtaking and photos don’t do justice. 4.	Fort Masmak and surrounding areas – Souk Alzal, Imam Turki Museum. The museum in Fort Masmak told the history of unification of Saudi, made up by hundreds of tribes. Imagine the fierce battles between these tribes and the efforts to unify them. Places are open mostly after 2pm or even later. It was very nice to see families spending time together walking, children playing and doing artwork instead of scrolling their phones. Metro train is new. Busses and trains were easy to navigate though more connections are needed. People were so helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the trip and as usual came home enriched with global knowledge. Thank you #MGF25 #drmahaarujanan #sciencecommunicator
