@bethroseofficial_: for years, i thought the reason i couldn’t let things go was because they didn’t make sense. if i could just understand why they excluded me. why they were cold when i was trying so hard. why they kept doing things that felt hurtful and then acting like nothing happened. then i’d finally be able to move on. except that’s not what was happening. i wasn’t actually looking for answers. i was looking for relief. because when someone has become an anchor for your nervous system, understanding them starts to feel like the path back to stability. you think: “if i can just make it make sense, i’ll finally be okay.” but there are plenty of things you’ll never fully understand. and there are plenty of people who will never give you an explanation that satisfies you. the shift happened when i stopped asking: “why are they like this?” and started asking: “what am i hoping understanding them will give me?” because for me, the answer wasn’t information. it was safety. and no amount of analyzing someone else can give you what your nervous system is asking for from you. #nervoussystem #inlaws #somatichealing #HealingJourney
