Frame needs to move up and down with suspension support. On a bad bump the frame will try to jump up and down like it’s designed to do. Depending on set up, may tear trailer frame, wooden board or even strap. Let the suspension do its thing. Strap by wheels.

Everyone does it differently, There is a difference between sprung and unsprung strapping stuff down by the axles and or wheels is always better because it’s unsprung and the frame is sprung which can compress more from bombs causing your strap to get slack and unhook from the trailer or cause the strap to break.

Tow truck drivers only use those because there’s also directly tied to a winch so they don’t have to worry about losing a vehicle but when you’re personally telling another vehicle on a trailer you want that vehicle be able to move up and down with a suspension of your trailer therefore you should tie to either axles control, arms, or wheels so that way the tow vehicle can move with the balance of the trailer!

Most roll back trucks use “8 point” tie down systems, they are absolutely awesome. Super fast and secure. Most of us only use the cluster hooks for winching

most newer vehicles have active suspension so putting a j hook to the frame is a no no straps over the tires is the correct way on older cars it doesn't really matter

I will keep strapping to the tires. the suspension needs to travel. you put this on the frame. you're going to tear things or break things

If you tie that truck down like that when it bounces, it will come unhooked.You either have to use wheelstraps or j.Hooks and hook to the a arms or the rear end

🤣🤣 Waiting on the next video showing a damage claim on a car, where lower control arms are damaged and the alignment is out. There are plenty of mini j and t slots to hook onto. Make sure metal is thick, otherwise mini j will rip through.

I sold a project 2nd gen dodge to a guy. he strapped it down with 1 strap through the doors and then used a homemade cheater bar to tighten it. the trailer was folding up like a taco around the truck. he probably could've used these

except tow trucks don't use those nor do car haulers anymore. doing it that way will cause damage and have a tendency to come unhooked. around the tire is the best way and won't cause damage. also those aren't rated which they have to be by law

You don't want to strap vehicles down with the frame for transport as you are compressing the suspension then beating the heck out of the suspension that can't move. The rigging can also come loose if the suspension can still move at all. If you are strapping the tires down the vehicles suspension is allow to work as it was designed and the straps on the wheels won't come loose as the wheels can't move.
