Your plumber could have cut the ceiling in room below and check what’s the problem and this could have been sorted from underneath. You could have saved all this money you spend on shower tray and tiles.

when bathroom fitter asked you shower tray need proper wood frame then customer asked i need as it is like display. I builder last 10 years. I have already explained to my clients look you see everything in display. in show room they don't contact water, drain. so that's way please consider builder advice as well
