@iambillydavis: What is amber and what does it actually smell like? The moment I smelled this fragrance, I felt like I finally realized what amber actually is. #fragrance #cologne #perfume
Amber stones do have a scent! When polishing amber stones, you will smell the piney resin burning. I love using amber when making jewelry, probably because when I set and polish amber stones, I get to smell them 🥰

Something nobody's ever been able to answer for me: whenever I try to wear Jasmine, the scent comes off as cat urine (Very ammonia/across/nose burning smell). I wish I were kidding, but there's something & I don't know if there's a chemical explanation or if it's just my body chemistry but Jasmine smells horrific on me & I've never understood why!

the amber note on perfume had always confused me because amber, the real gemstone amber, does have a smell. when it's being cut or polished it gives off a beautiful, rich sap/resinous smell. it takes 10million years for tree sap to fossilize and become gemstone amber so it quite literally smells like an ancient forest.

I think you’re the first person to ever actually describe a scent in a way that makes me think I actually understand what it would smell like. The words and images along with the description of the feeling it evokes are so good. Thank you.

I can’t overstate how much I enjoy your videos and those of your wife. The two of you have completely reshaped my perception of fragrance content creators. In fact, I think of you less as influencers and more as educators who happen to share a genuine passion for perfumery. Please keep up the fantastic work.
By the way, my personal benchmark for amber fragrances is Profumum Roma Ambra Aurea—it’s the standard against which I measure every other amber.

The first floral bouquet was created by Paul Parquet in 1896 with le parfum ideal, not everything starts with Shalimar k? In fact Guerlain has a reputation of not being the innovator but the refiner, Shalimar was a refinement of Coty’s Emeraude, and if u have tried the vintage, the similarity is uncanny, pls stop with the lvmh paid puffery piece and do some actual research.
