I’m 43. I look 43. I get the “you look good for your age” or people think I’m a lot younger. I don’t think that’s actually true. They just don’t think someone in their 40s is going to look youthful at all or relatively stylish. And it’s that. I just don’t present myself that differently than I have over the past 15ish years. I know my style and vibe and I just update it to keep current. People just expect us to look “old” because we are, and historically, anyone 40+ has been portrayed as that way, ie. 80s/90s sitcoms. So you’re right. We just look good. 😏

On several occasions I’ve had women tell me “when you get to my age” or “when I was your age” before they learn we’re the same age or I’m older… like it’s kind of a compliment but I don’t like that it makes people think I’m less senior than I am in my career
