Went out there 2 days ago and found some old foundations of structures on the ghost roads (paved roads that go into the lake). They were flooded out. There was about 5-7 small family farms under that lake. The history of that lake gets a little bit darker though.

That end of the lake is shallow anyway. Down by the damn isn’t that bad but definitely low. No one goes to that side of the lake besides a handful of bass fisherman and kayaks

Let me be clear that's not a rail road, the railroad is above you where you are standing, and it is still operational. the lake was created in the 80's and yes it was down to conservation pool in 2006,

Used to canoe on the neuse river before the lake. We would put in at 85 and go to Boyce mill would take all day
