The issue isn’t that he killed someone who attacked him. It’s that the man was trying to surrender, he was pleading for his life under Walker in broad daylight, and walker still killed him, not out of self defense anymore, but out of revenge, which isn’t what captain America stood for.

The dude was unarmed, and running away. john had him pinned, he was a neutralized threat. It wasn’t self defense or naturalizing a threat. It was a public execution. That’s the problem.

First problem with the show, sympathetic terrorists. its hard to empathize with bad guys who's only impact is terrorizing civilians. Second problem, everyone in the show, and later Thunderbolts, treat john like a POS for what he did, when they themselves have all killed, most of them in cold blood too

This series did a really bad job of showing walker as a dark character... he was a good guy for the most part. also they were really fixed on this idea of showing the terrorists as characters to sympathise with, but then they attack a food bank and murder a bunch of people. na they terrorists and walker is well within his rights to put them in the ground. not sure why it's so hard for Sam to get on board with that
