The way the dress part is not at all fit to the mannequin. Like an accessory that’s just been attached, rather than feeling part of the whole. Having lost their own mannequin…body…humanity… to become part of the suit’s mannequin. At the back where it is unseen by the mannequin. And how the pants claim the legs, while the dress just wraps behind. But the front does not claim the feet. The back are heels. The mannequin weighing down on the heels to stay upright, while only the front controls the movement. And generally we walk heel-to-toe… with the impact of each step being most absorbed by the heel. I am really interested to know if the piece was intended to be interpreted this way or if the art has made itself.
