I honestly feel so bad…my dad bought a brand new 1979 gmc sierra and he drove that truck until 1994…it was a farm truck but this truck was amazing. In 1994 he gave me that truck as my first vehicle. And he bought a 1989 GMC. I drove the 79 for a year and said I wanted a car…he sold my bull and he sold the truck (bit to my defense he sold it to someone that restores vehicles and said he would buy it back). The guy sold it two months later. I would give anything to find a 1969 gmc sierra, maroon, 4wd for my son to rebuild with grandpa. I was a jerk but my dad never made me feel like one even if he had a year in his eye (I know I was now….then no) my dad is amazing.

The irony for me is that I make anywhere from 3-5X the yearly income that my parents ever made, and I’ve still never bought a vehicle newer than 4 years old. My current truck has 592,000 miles, and no plans to replace it. While my parents have had multiple new vehicles throughout their lives.
