This is also why I really dislike Stolas from Helluva Boss. The narrative bends over backwards to try and make you feel sorry for him and that his horrible actions are everyone else’s fault.

Also (Maybe it's just me) but the dialogue in TADC is cringy and empty cause they never really talk to each other but we're supposed to believe that they're bffa that care so much about each in the end. Zooble feeling bad for Jax after he pressed the button and after he abstracted really makes no sense when they should be the one cheering since they were calling out Jax so much.

I mean Clark still doesn't work, his break at the end, or at least the level of it, feels out of nowhere since we don't actually see him living in the Backrooms.

they're both bad people who lash out at the people who try to help them, but Clark at least has coherent motivations and a character arc. Jax has no reason to act like that considering that every other member of the cast (that we get to learn literally anything about) experienced equal or worse traumas and losses. he's just static and flat consistently being cruel just for the sake of it

I think the most important reason why Clark is better is because we understand his behaviour and where it stems from, we understand why he is the way he is. We feel bad because his struggles are relatable (unachieved dreams, wage slavery) and many of us have found ourselves is his skin. Jax on the other hand has no solid backstory that explains his behaviour as it doesn't make sense, not only that but the story tries to make us feel bad for an abuser that enjoys others pain just because he is in pain. While Clark was an abuser, he never wanted to do the things he did, although he took it too far multiple times and met his end, the story afterwards never made it this big and tragic moment, but moreso a consequence of what happens when you get consumed by your darkness. Jax DOES enjoy hurting people yet the story doesn't take a logical step towards his abstraction. Like why is Pomni trying to help him ? why do the other characters feel bad for his abstraction ? Because It's just a brainless ending. The story wants us to feel bad for him yet it never shows struggles that people face commonly in order for us to maybe understand him but even If it did, the fact that he is actively enjoying tourmenting people kills any sort of empathy I could have for him. This show truly lost any sort of character depth it ever had and it is sad how out of every other interesting and unique character in the main cast the story could have focused on, it chose to focus on the character with the most overdone and copy and pasted trope in fiction, that being the "traumatised asshat". Such a shame

I feel like the digital circus movie should have started with ragatha having a crash at Jax and the exploding on everyone else stuff about zooble and gangle she didn’t mean and stuff about pomni that was kinda true like how she kinda was focusing a little to much on Jax and then at the end she feels bad and runs off and everyone leaves Jax to realize he did suck it was his fault and apologize and while that’s happening everyone else is trying to help themselves and eachother and everyone apologizes to ragatha and there hanging out watching a movie and then Jax come out apologize no one forgives her but they do put her in a time out cage and they work on things together

me encantan tus analisis pero realmente creo que simplificarse demaciado. Raghata solo confronto una vez a Jax diciéndole sus verdades pero ella realmente no quiere dañar a nadie incluso si ella siente que lo merecen. Pomni por otro lado tambien es una idiota con complejo de héroe que TMB confronto a Jax pero ahora quiere salvarlo Gangle y Zooble reaccionaron de una manera real, zooble se enoja y gangle se siente mal por no llorar por la muerte de su bully(por sentimiento de que le debe algo a su bully). están más tristes por tener que lidiar con jax en ese estado donde les puede hacer un daño irreparable. cuando gangle finalmente llora cuando todo se repara , gangle llora porque finalmente se cumplió de que el ya no le haga daño pero eso significa que está tranquila que el murió ,sintiendo culpa por eso, además jax a estado tantos años con elles que se entiende porque luego de todas maneras se sienten mal que termino así , y al igual como en algunas relaciónes tóxicas de alguna manera la víctima siente una extrañia a la falta de su abusador, igual manera que extrañaron a Caine cuando el estuvo abusando de todos por semanas(y todos los años que les dió de agotamiento psicológico). Jax y Caine son parte de las pocas "personas" a las que tienen acceso, por eso aunque les hizo daño , que estás personas desaparezcan no es la mejor solución ya que solo quedarían menos y menos integrantes de la poca gente que aún queda . por eso Caine vuelve y cambia para poder adaptarse al grupo y ser feliz , algo que jax (como la película te muestra) no es capaz ni quiere tomar ese primer paso. Si creo que la peli quiere que nos sintamos mal pero es porque Jax no debió irse por ese camino , que uno no debe seguir su camino. nos explican su historia y en ella las justicaciones que usa Jax para su actuar, cuando en realidad no es ningúna justificación para ser un hijo de puta. por eso al final te muestra que si hubo una parte de el (en el mundo real) que si se volvió mejor persona , que se aceptó así mismo y que pudo seguir adelante. por qué Jax tenía opciones , el pudo cambiar pero se quedó atascando en su momento de su trauma y uso eso para dañar a la poca gente que vivía con el.
