What?!? The boss/partner compassion is an awful comparison. It’s confusing professional politeness and contractual compliance with respect. With a boss there is a power dynamic and power imbalance that there shouldn’t be in a healthy relationship. Eg. I’m talking through a football match - my partner rolls his eyes and tells me I’m being annoying and ruining the game. That’s not disrespectful. If my partner’s boss starts talking to him whilst he’s working on something, and it’s annoying… guess what he definitely shouldn’t say.
