They're both great cities. The only thing that's better in Vancouver is the view and the things you can find OUTSIDE the city, which is ironic and doesn't make the city itself better. The Canadian Rockies are breathtaking, it's so beautiful to see from the city. And then leaving the city to visit them is stunning. But that's it really, it doesn't have the same diversity, which means it doesn't have the same level of food and culture. Don't misunderstand what I'm saying now: Vancouver is diverse, they have diverse food and culture. But Toronto is officially the most diverse city in the world (yes, officially) and it is on a whole other level no other city has matched. Better sports scene, nightlife, etc... Go to Vancouver to see all the incredible sights Canada has to offer though. It'll be the best experience you'll have, some of the sights you don't believe you're seeing with your own eyes.

I wouldn't say it's better but a totally different experience. The beauty of Vancouver is unbelievable, it's a very laid-back city compared to Toronto, but it is expensive.

I used to live in Toronto, have lived in Vancouver for the last 5 yrs. I would never move back to TO. The weather can’t be beat in the summer. There is beach and mountains right there. The one thing that I really love about Vancouver compared to TO is the trees. The trees and the amount of lush greenness makes it so nice. TO is barren. Vancouver is also very very walkable, and has great transit.

Both are great!! Vancouver is especially wonderful if you’re outdoorsy. The mountains the sea. It’s so beautiful. But Toronto is fun and there is always so much stuff to do in Toronto. Ana Montreal is magical in the summer.
