@chaoticmama.co: NC locals, I need your expertise! 🌊 We are planning a family beach trip and I have zero clue where to start. Drop your absolute favorite kid-friendly towns and hotels below! 👇 #northcarolina #ncbeaches #familyvacation #momtok #travelplanning
Historic Wilmington, beach isn’t a far drive and you could honestly spend the entire trip downtown and not miss the beach. Battle ship is really close and the boardwalk along the river is really nice (right in downtown). Carolina and wrightsville beach aren’t far. I personally have more experience going to Carolina beach and like it more. If you want to drive on the beach just double check the permit situation

Topsail is where we almost always go. It’s quieter. Small crowds. If you want more excitement, then Carolina Beach near wilmginton has a cute boardwalk. Kure Beach right ther is also cute. Emerald Isle is cute too.

I like Hatteras personally but the ocean can be a bit rough for some people. Good shells in Rodanthe when storms roll by. If you’re renting a house I always recommend one with a pool. That way you have it for red flag days. Kitty Hawk is good too. If you want to go as far south as Georgia look at Tybee.

Check out ocean isle beach - it’s the best imo. Small, no huge complexes, plenty of house rentals with pools.
