As a mixed person myself, i allways saw white people saying it will ruin their children’s innocence by teaching them about racism. but not my innocence getting ruined because of the color of my skin and having to learn to be careful around cops at the age of 8

Bc look at the difference in the cases of karmelo vs the case of Timothy Hudson. Karmelo stabbed another kid who was bullying him and got physical with him first, rushed trial, 35 years. Timothy violently graped and strangled his step sister on a cruise and then hid her body underneath his bed, and is sitting at home as we speak rn living with his uncle who has children in the home, bc “hes a kid”. THE SYSTEM WONT VIEW YOUR BLACK CHILD AS A CHILD, so yes how you raise them matters!!

When I was in elementary school my dad came for career day and a white kid told me “oh Madison did your daddy finally find the milk.” Or when I was in college my face plastered on slaves body by a teammate and my coach did absolutely nothing. And told me to get over it. Racism is taught at home. And her mom told me I was a grown woman who got her feelings hurt.

I got called a racial slur for the first time at 4 years old. I still remember that day and how it made me feel. People don’t care is what I’ve realized. It makes them uncomfortable so they will keep deflecting.

Yea in grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and a boy like literally threatened to lynch me while we were arguing. He’s dead now and when ppl were saying he was such a good person I busted out laughing😭😭

First day of school ever. Colouring our portraits like a blank template shaped like a gingerbread man. Was told I picked the wrong colour i had picked peach. Was told to pick the poo colour because my skin is dirty like poo. They laughed including my teacher Ms Timmins.

My only brown child was in kindergarten at a catholic school! Did I say CATHOLIC???!!! There were two sets of twins in the class. One set (Mexican Nationals) never invited my daughter to any events or parties and they had SEVERAL and the mom spoke to me like I was the “hired help.” The other set of twins who had MAGA parents told my daughter point blank to her face “We can’t play with you because you’re Black.” When I politely told the parent about the comment, she was speechless and clearly exposed. After that, she decided to invite my daughter to parties. I was like no thanks, I’m not coming to your Christian-based KKK functions💁🏽♀️

I'm white as is my husband. when my second born started Pre-K3, he came home and he told me about his new. very fancy classmate. classmate Penelope. on Mondays she always had new hairstyles that made her look like a princess with a crown. Penelope is black and her mama is a hairdresser and her braids were on point. he was in awe of her beauty and her black girl magic. he was three. they are still best friends at age 10. beauty and awe are natural. hatred is taught

Also racism is TAUGHT, if your child is racist you either need to pay closer attention to their peers and the type of media they’re consuming AND/OR take real time to reflect on why they would been perpetuating this kind of behavior. Is it how YOU are acting? Is it wha YOURE saying?

Year 1990 5yr old me made friend at school. a blonde girl who lived 4 doors down from me . we played at school but when we got home i and i greeted my friend on the weekend i was told by here that her dad said she could not play with me because i was black. at 5 I was confused because my skin was brown i went home crying to my mom. because i didn't understand i told my mom that i wasn't black i was brown. So that day at the age of 5 she had to explain race and racism to a 5yr old me
