Pull the toilet and only cut around the drain pipe. Then replace toilet with fresh wax seal

why not just take the toilet off seems like it would be a lot easier. I've been installing hardwood for 25 years never would I install hardwood around the toilet I would install it underneath the toilet and put the toilet on top of it

I would have had that toilet out, flooring down, and toilet back down and caulked before you finished that template

So glad my boss taught me to pull the toilet. Even if the customer didn't want to pay it. We still did as courtesy. Included the new wax ring as well.
