@foxicleopatra: Yesterday I stopped by a beauty supply store in Waldorf, Maryland and noticed it wasn’t as busy as it normally is on a weekend. While there were a few Black customers inside, I wanted to take the opportunity to spread awareness. Many in our community are still hurting over the verdict in the Cyrus Carmack-Belton case. As a result, some people have chosen to boycott certain Asian-owned businesses as a form of protest and to call attention to what they feel is a lack of justice. This post is not about hate or attacking anyone. It’s about awareness, accountability, and standing in solidarity with a family and community that continues to grieve.
