5 mins before my shift ended this lady came in and needed 2.89 back, ok, cool, i have the change in my hand literally in her face and shes like "erm actually... can i give u 13 cents and u just give me $3?" im like "well the change is in my hand already.." shes like "ok well i dont want the change." i said "ok..." and continue to hand her the change, she goes "what? do you not know how to count?" i slam her change on the counter and tell her to have a good day... like lady get out of my face rn

my favorite is when they just throw it at me and then get upset cause I decided to play Jigsaw with their items instead of tetris when putting it in the bag. Oh im sorry I thought we were just throwing things now. or when you ask em for any kind of card and they struggle to give it to you then wipe off their hands if you made the egregious error of skin contact. then act annoyed when I place their card on the counter instead of handing it back to them.

I work part time at DG. I left the register to do stock as usual, and in 5 seconds I hear HELLOOOO so I do my quick walk back to the register to ring up.... a 50 cent bag of chips. Yeah cuz that required my absolute urgency. Meanwhile someone with a loaded shopping cart would wait patiently and tell me to take my time.

I just holler “hello” in the same exact tone from wherever I am in the store 😝 then make them feel bad by saying “yes unfortunately we have to work out on the floor AND keep an eye on register so there are times you may have to wait 30 seconds”

We have a door bell at our register, I’ll respond to the doorbell only😂 but we’re usually close by the register (cashier only works on things up front ) if for some reason we’re not upfront, it’s because we’re helping a customer, or doing go backs. 😂 But yeah I don’t respond to hello or when they talk at me. Like they just stare at me and say “paper towels? Where’s paper towels “ 😂 I act like I’m not paying attention and say “oh sorry didn’t know you were talking to me”😂 but honestly I hardly get that, I get a lot of regulars.

Recently had a women try to talk down to me by saying “hey I know you can’t hear me because your music is so loud but I’m ready to check out now.” And like she was a child “maam idk if you can tell but there is a mess in the aisle and I’m the only one here so I will check you out of course but I gotta clean the mess up okay? Thank you I’ll be there soon” all of a sudden she didn’t need to be checked out💀

My biggest pet peeve is somebody watching thru the door and immediately yelling for the bathroom key as they see I’m talking to a customer and checking them out, it’s like my ears were left at home 😁
