@cheapholidayexpert: Have you heard of KANCHANABURI in Thailand? 🇹🇭 The perfect escape from Bangkok, just 2.5 hours away 🚂 💾 SAVE THIS and share it with someone you'd love to visit Thailand with! I LOVE Bangkok, but sometimes you want a slower pace. The good news? You don't need a flight or a full day of travel to find it. 🇹🇭 KANCHANABURI 🇹🇭 🚂 We took the train from Thonburi Station for just 100 baht (£2.26). There are two trains a day - one in the morning and one in the evening. We stayed at: 🏨 The Xcape River Kwai 📍 £141 per night for a Luxe Cabin with breakfast At first I wondered if it would be worth the price, but wow. We were picked up by golf buggy, had complimentary minibar items, breakfast with champagne, and even evening tea delivered to our room. I expected a quirky stay, but the service felt genuinely 5-star. There are cheaper room options too, but I had to book the one with kayak access to the River Kwai! Places to visit: 🌿 ERAWAN NATIONAL PARK 📍 Around 1 hour from Kanchanaburi Home to some of Thailand's most beautiful waterfalls 🏞️ 🚂 RIVER KWAI BRIDGE One of Thailand's most famous landmarks. We were lucky enough to catch a train crossing while we were there! 📖 DEATH RAILWAY MUSEUM & RESEARCH CENTRE Taking the train is fun, but learning the history is important too. Thousands of prisoners of war died building the railway, and the museum is a powerful reminder of that history. 🏛️ WAT BAN THAM Don't miss the incredible dragon staircase leading up to a stunning cave temple. 📣 LET ME KNOW...
