You saying to never do vertical sanding is incorrect. People can certainly switch between each to get edges easier, or switch off between each method (left to right, up & down) between grits so they know when they're previous grit marks are gone. It's called cross-hatching, and it's super effective for beginners.

Why do your headlights look a bit hazy/blurry before you put on the ceramic coating? Mine never look like that they look new when I’m done. But everyone I watch has a blurry headlight then they apply it and it look clear.
