I see people always saying (not just in here but in conversations and other platforms) that the bigger team should stop trying because they feel bad for the lesser team. In reality trying to score even more is a sign of respect because they are still playing at 100% and take the other team seriously. If someone stops trying because they feel bad for me I would feel disrespected, knowing they weren’t going all out on me.

I understand how frustrating that must be for the other team but as a German I know that we and so many other countries take football very seriously and if you take it seriously it is natural to give it your best and that’s what they did. You can’t really be in the World Cup and not give it your all because you feel bad for someone. That is not what the WC is for, I’m sorry
