Hi YOU, I am sending out a personal update and message to you all. I have spent endless hours, days and months exploring alternative options to my incurable tumour. This research has taken up more of my life than the actual treatment I am having. This has come with stressful times, hard conversations and also uncertainty around what’s best for me and my family. I’ve now had consultations with 2 private clinics in Germany regarding immunotherapy. Both explained in detail what they offer, how it works and the costs involved. Money is a huge consideration into these treatments because they are vastly different when we were sent the breakdowns of the cost. One clinic was going to cost £100,000 and the other £190,000. The big difference between the two clinics was that the more expensive one offered more in depth treatment, further testing, monitoring and extended personalised vaccines at the end of the immunotherapy cycles. It’s been a super tough decision to make and ultimately I have had to go with what my gut is telling me. Myself and my family have decided to go with (IOZK) clinic in Germany. The treatment lasts approximately 18 months, flying back and forth to the clinic each month. The advantage with this clinic is I get to pay in instalments before each course so I can spread the payments out evenly and not have to desperately rush to get the funds within a month. To try and raise £190,000 is a huge ask and something I could only dream of getting close to. This is where I really need all your help going forward.
