I’m so disappointed in these comments. The guy is a chief officer on a cargo ship. This is normal maritime behavior being concerned for other vessels especially one in a situation like she is. He also probably enjoyed talking to someone new doing something super cool

Yall think he flirting? This man is professional who is stunned to girl out in the middle of the ocean, by herself. It’s a vast, wild and unforgiving place. He is impressed with her and asked for email to ensure she makes it safely. Why, he is logging her current location, knows she’s in the trades, heading to Hawaii. If she fails to respond to his email, he knows where to send help to search for her. Mad respect for this man! 👏
