I play the pedal steel guitar, there’s days when I wanna walk past it and keep going. Those are the times when you have to force yourself to practice. If you don’t practice, the first you hear it, the second day the band hears it, and the third day the audience hears it. It’s relaxing, it’s not meant to frustrate you, have fun with it you’ll enjoy it better.

You are so right, been playing six years and try and practice nearly every day and it can be extremely demoralising. Every so often though I get a push forward that makes it feel worthwhile again.
