Photographer here over 20 years, The camera lens, angles and lighting. First photo, camera by your face higher, lighting in front of you. 2nd photo, lower camera, light coming from camera right. Cell phone cameras can also distort images because they are also designed for landscape, you are taking a portrait. Photographers use different lenses for landscape and portraits. Cell phones don't. It is not a you problem. 🫶
