@cherry.adhd: Things that ACTUALLY help me as a mum with ADHD to make it through the morning and hopefully leave the house on time without forgetting the essentials. #adhd #adhdhacks #neurodivergent #adhdmom #audhd
I have an ensuite bathroom so I set one alarm clock for maybe 30 mins before I have to get up & when it goes off I get up, go pee, and on my way back to bed I open the blinds, turn on my bed side lamp, have a drink of water and put on a podcast or something that’s not intense and then tell myself “it’s OK - I still have 30 mins to rest.” But then that tricks my body into waking up on its own with the light, the little bit of movement, the drink & the sound. Then when my actual alarm goes off it doesn’t feel as torturous bc I didn’t *fully* go back to sleep - I more ‘rested’ and gave my body a chance to adjust to waking up. Idk… helps me out!

I prep what I can the night before, set the alarm with enough time to get ready and out the door but not so much time to allow me to get distracted. then blare the music, singing along on my way to work

I wake, fall out of bed and turn the light on, then a music app. As for getting stuff ready the night before, I’ve done that my whole life and never knew how much load it takes off in the morning.
