Max Velocity, Ryan Hall and all of the other meteorologists and storm chasers are doing a way better job than this current administration

It's crazy, man. What started as a small effort, with just a few NWS offices being cut for cost, has expanded into a large area, with many offices in Tornado Alley facing the same cuts. Like most of the NWS offices in Tornado Alley, they are cut from sending weather balloons up and gathering soundings, which are very important for getting the message out, seeing what's going on, and more. Those who work for the NWS and do send weather balloons up usually do so out of their own pocket rather than the NWS being able to pay for it, and weather balloons, I don't believe, are not cheap, especially when multiple have to be sent up at separate times.

We had a tornado in April and had no idea there was even a chance of severe weather until that evening. It was terrifying.

there were no sirens in Springfield IL when the tornado hit us, but it was a mistake since they thought it WASNT going to hit us when it already was hitting us

Not saying Trump is good for cutting NWS budget because he isn’t, but they issued the severe weather risk days in advance, if you can’t look at SPC outlook or the weather channels that were announcing a potential outbreak, then ofc you won’t know

Everything had adequate warning and it was a fantastic forecast with days of lead time. I don’t think you guys understand what the cuts actually impacted.

I’m a centrist/conservative and I think the weather fund cutting is terrible. Models and warnings have been greatly altered in accuracy so forecasting has became harder than ever. I really hope trump gives more budget to the NOAA later on
