@kacy7424: A traumatic brain injury can steal so much from a person. Mobility, personality, cognition, memories, autonomy. I will forever be grateful that she was able to fight to survive and is still here to hug and love. But sometimes I do think about how different things would have been for her and wonder about the life she would be living. Then and now, she is the strongest person I know. As an SLP I’ve seen so many devastating results from TBI when I worked in acute care and in a brain injury rehab center. People do not respect just how fragile humans truly are.
