@kacy7424: A traumatic brain injury can steal so much from a person. Mobility, personality, cognition, memories, autonomy. I will forever be grateful that she was able to fight to survive and is still here to hug and love. But sometimes I do think about how different things would have been for her and wonder about the life she would be living. Then and now, she is the strongest person I know. She is still kind, loving, full of life, and deserves every good thing ♥️ #sisters #braininjuryawareness #tbiawareness #Siblings

I’m so sorry, that grief is so valid. I hope we continue to learn more about the brain so we can provide people more relief. 💔

My daughter is 19 and suffered a TBI this Pat April. Her recovery has been a miracle and I pray she continues to progress over time. Currently at the impatient rehab with her right now.

So did mine. Same age. We were not close and can’t be now because of how things developed but I agree it’s so unfair.

As an SLP I’ve seen so many devastating results from TBI when I worked in acute care and in a brain injury rehab center. People do not respect just how fragile humans truly are.

My younger sister 17 years old is going through the same, it’s so hard to make decisions not knowing what she’ll want. It’s just all so unfair.

My sister younger passed at 19. I mourn for my children. She would have been an amazing aunt.

Happened to my mom unfortunately, but very comforting in a way to see other people understand both the pain, love, and grief you experience constantly. Sometimes it feels like you’re the only one experiencing a situation like this.

She’s beautiful. Please know that your grief is valid. We not only grieve those who are no longer loving - we grieve what we know cannot live with us ❤️
