a lot of people have a very distant relationship with the law or the experiences they have are generally negative. law school still evokes the image of the student and the potential they possess but lawyer/attorney evokes the criminal justice system, nameless corporate suits, etc.

When I hear law school I think: very smart, passionate, active. But when I hear attorney I think: burnt out, law school forgotten about, and boring. This kind of thing. It's not a correct way of thinking but I get why people view it this way.

They may see lawyers as condescending & may just be intimidated. Or they may want to avoid asking questions out of fear they can come across as having an end goal of getting free legal advice. I lack clarity on the situation.

in law school your conversations were probably with others ins school or at least young, so it may have been impressive to them. Now it’s with adults where it may not be impressive.

It’s prob cuz ur not working yet. The whole point of passing the bar is so you can represent people in court, so maybe it’s not impressive until attorneys actually use their bar license and represent ppl in court? Idk

I think there's a belief that while in school you're at the top of your game, because most people have spent their whole life data dumping school.
