in simple terms If you take a loan and work with it to make profit, then it is not haram to pay additional money as "interest" since you also made profit from the money you took. But if you use the money for basic necessities without earning any profit then, it becomes riba and haram. That's how I understood it

FREEDOM AND JUSTICE :
If this is what our Sheikh is saying, my question is why now. Meaning, our Islamic scholars and preachers has been misleading us for a long time. Does it mean, they didn't know this or they are now discovering it. Our scholars have to explain this properly to the present day Ummah.

No. Loan is loan. Whether you use it for business or personal use you’ll still pay interest. It’s Haram!!!!‼️unless he’s talking about Arabic banks

for as long as you take a loan which has a fixed interest charged on it, I believe it's haram. What's halal is the one which has a binding agreement on profit and loss sharing. let's note that banks interests are compounded and not straightforward. They mostly include calculations that are beyond the ordinary clients comprehension and mostly ends up in a mess. May Allah guide us all.

The explanation is true but it doesn’t exist in our country. The banks will not just give you money to go and work to bring profit for sharing. They will calculate the interest on the money in a contract even before they give you the money. If you make more profit with the money, they will still take what is in the contract AND when you make loss they will still take their money with the interest and if you are not able to pay, they fall on whatever you used as collateral to pay for the debt. How will you be 100% the money will yield profit ?. Allah Knows best.

Halal banking (Islamic banking) is a banking system that follows Islamic principles by avoiding interest (riba), sharing risks and profits, and investing only in ethical, permissible businesses. Instead of earning money through interest on loans, the bank earns through trade, leasing, partnerships, or profit-sharing arrangements.

almost all those who have taken loans from the traditional banks will tell you the kind of frustration they go through. I worked as a data analyst and administrator with a credit bureau for almost a decade and I know what I am talking about. There's no blessing in taking such loans.
