I believe Scotia is likely going private because its parent company believes Scotia Jamaica is worth more in the future than what the public market is currently valuing it at, and they want to own 100% of that future value instead of sharing it with public shareholders. 🤷♀️

I just left Scotiabank Canada. I worked on the tech side in corporate. We would always joke that we had to remind ourselves that Scotiabank is global bank and they are not gonna go bankrupt. They surely acted like it tho. I would do nothing with that bank. Their credit cards are good tho. Prob one of the best in Canada
