@bigbabyots: Battle creek Police Department Harrasment at its Finest. This is my Young dogs second encounter with the same police department. The officer clearly states that he isnt in any trouble and he just wants to talk in which he refuses which is considered a voluntary consensual encounter. Its barely 60 degrees outside today , as the past two weeks its been in the 80s. His reasonble suspicion was that his “Hands” were in his pockets. After the refusal Officer Cooper violates his Fourth Amendment rights and Michigan Law by illegally blocking traffic to question and detain a minor. The fact that the officer used him putting his hands in his pockets as Reasonable suspicion, it lead to him falsely searching the minor and detaining him all because he refused to converse with law enforcement. He stated that he wasn’t trying to make his day any worse but failed to realize falsifying a Reason to illegally search a minor already made his day worse. This has happened twice so now its moved on to harassment. These officers purposely police black neighborhoods in Battle creek heavily with the intentions of harrasing , detaining and overstepping their authority. Its not illegal for a minor to possess a pocket knife as there is not a minum set age to carry one. They want to build trust within the community but fail to realize that actions as such as these further widens the gap when Michigan law and our Fourth Amendment rights are constantly violated with no repercussions for officers.
