@fix.it.in.post.po: I love how easily Ben Affleck explains this! A movie doesn’t just break even simply because it makes back what it costs to make! This is a clip from All The Smoke podcast on YT . . . #moviesbringmejoy #benaffleck #movies #business
soooo perhaps lets not pay actors $20M a movie. pay them $2M. thats a 10x cost reduction right there

You'll never convince me that the advertising budget is anywhere close to the lies they keep telling us.

Saw an ok movie this weekend, two people, $42 for tix, $38 for popcorn, 2 hot dogs and 2 small drinks. $80 for a movie. Just in case you were wondering why people wait for it to stream, Bennie.

The movie theaters do not make half the ticket prices. That couldn’t be so further from the truth.

Meanwhile Ben Afflecks movie salery has been between 8-15 million per movie since the early 2000s … overpaid actors can save budgets .

Why does advertising cost as much as making a movie? Good products don’t need advertising

actors should get paid a percentage of profits. if movie doesn't do well they don't. pretty simple

I was always told that a movie has to make back 2.5 times their budget so a $25m film would have to make back about $62.5m

It’s all nonsense if this was the case the movie business wouldn’t exist anymore. Every movie bombs now yet they keep making more

It would be a lot cheaper to make a movie if actors were not paid so much. They should be paid a percentage of the box office if the movie does well.

Studios also say every movie isn't profitable so they don't pay taxes or benefits and such. Like Star Wars OG trio didn't make money according to studio

Common Cents :
If good movies were produced, making money would be easy. We’re a country with over 300 million people. You can’t get 15-20 million people to watch your movie? It’s pathetic. Any decent film should bring in over 200 million dollars with the ticket prices and population growth. There are too many terrible films and few new ideas.
