@jerseyalerts: NEWARK UPDATE — DELANEY HALL PROTEST A FRACTION OF ITS FORMER SIZE A drive-by observation of the protest outside Delaney Hall at approximately 10:25 PM Saturday showed a dramatically smaller crowd compared to the large demonstrations seen just weeks ago. Video recorded by Jersey Alerts shows a limited number of protesters remaining outside the facility, with no visible confrontations, significant police activity, or major crowd energy observed at the time. The demonstrations once drew hundreds of participants and generated statewide attention, with arrests, road closures, and clashes between protesters and law enforcement. Many observers have noted that the crowds have not returned to their previous levels since Newark Mayor Ras Baraka implemented a temporary curfew in the area and Governor Mikie Sherrill deployed additional New Jersey State Police resources following periods of unrest. Whether the reduced turnout is temporary or signals a longer-term decline in protest activity remains to be seen, but Saturday night’s scene was markedly different from the height of the movement. 📍 Delaney Hall, Newark 🕙 Approximately 10:25 PM, June 13, 2026 🎥 Video recorded by Jersey Alerts What do you think caused the decline in turnout?
