I would change my flight because this would make me insane. That said, I do find comfort thinking about the risk of flying relative to things I do all the time with zero thought. So if you wouldn't think twice about getting in the car with your husband, remembering that you're considerably safer in the air might help.

Totally fair if that makes you feel safe! That said, the chance of something going wrong on a flight is so small compared to other things people do all the time, like riding in a car together. Flying is one of the safest modes of transportation! If that doesn’t make you feel better, please ignore this and do what makes you feel comfortable 💕

I just dealt with this a few months ago. I have a 2 year old and 7 month twins. My husband, mom, and I were traveling to a wedding out of state without the kids. At the time my twins were barely 4 months and my daughter had just turned 2. We had booked flights well before the twins arrived, and about a month out I started really panicking about both of us flying for this reason. I ended up canceling our flight and we drove. Now the part that half of my friends still give me "crap" about is that 2 months after that, we were flying all 5 of us across the country to visit with my brother and I said "this doesn't freak me out as much because if the plane goes down, we are all together". They all thought it was so weird that I thought this way because according to them, I wouldn't want my kids to live without me...but thats not the case. Its not to say I didn't have any anxiety over flying, but the thought of uprooting my babies lives AND putting the care of brand new twins onto someone else was a lot to stomach. All this to say, Maybe I am crazy, but I'd be switch flights. lol
