Ugh!! I got so annoyed when I read tetanus shot. It’s extremely frustrating when medical personnel do not know how a tetanus shot works or how tetanus itself works. Yeah cuz the tetanus shot is a treatment rather than a PREVENTATIVE that takes days to take effect. 🤦♀️I’m glad you went to the ER. I swear sometimes I think urgent care is just a waste of time and nothing but an extra stop.

Urgent Care could have killed you. You should have immediately been given iv antibiotics, not been told to go to the ER later if it got WORSE christ almighty

Cat scratch fever my sis and I have both gotten it but she got it worse and had to be hospitalized I was good with regular antibiotics

cat bites are always scrub with. a brush antibacterial soap, then immediately get to the hospital for antibiotics and probably an I&D

I had cat scratch fever as a kid and my lymph nodes on one side of my neck were swollen to hell 😭 cat germs wreak havoc! glad you and kitten are doing well! ❤️(I was obsessed with the name Odette as a kid and insisted people call me Chrysanthemum Odette 😂😅)

And this is why as someone that makes natural medicinal balms and salves, to specifically state that it is not suitable for puncture or bite wounds. I grew up in a nurse household. That red line had me shoookkkkkk!!!

Rule of thumb if you develop red lines along your limb after anything punctures your skin skip everything and go to the ER immediately

Thank you for sharing this. I’m taking care of some feral barn kittens and no matter how many times I tell my kid to leave them alone they will bite he doesn’t listen. I don’t think he understood until I shared your story with him. Now he’s more mindful of them.
